ᴘᴇʀsᴏɴᴀʟɪᴛʏ Smug, cocky, sarcastic, mysterious, cynical, distrusting. rash...

Santa is a bit rough around the edges from the get go; a punk who uses coarse language and can't stand indecision. He doesn't seem to think things through all the time and sometimes spits out stupid things without thinking it through. At least - it seems that way. Turns out he's a great actor who puts a lot more thought into his act than you realize.

He's lived without parents to guide him for a large portion of his life, so he was forced to mature way before he should have. That lack of guidance didn't help with his punk-ass kid personality either. But there was always one thing he was sure of and that was that he had to take care of his little sister Akane. Every year he'd work his butt off and save up every bit of money he could to get her whatever she asked for from Santa for Christmas. It wasn't easy, but it made him happy. Then one year her letter asked for a wish instead - that she was happy and simply wanted things to stay the way they were forever.

Unfortunately things wouldn't work out that way, and that was hard for him. But he didn't have much time for sadness because there was always a way to fix it. That mean, however, doing things he didn't really want to - but had to in order to save his sister's life. He became Zero's accomplice and helped set up the second Nonary game.

He can be clever, calculating, cruel, and angry. But deep down it's not that he's a bad person at his core, only that he was granted opportunities and made bad choices in the name of protecting the only family he had left. Akane was too important to him for there to be any other way.

For him, the concepts of hope, faith, love and luck are things he hates, as well as the image of the four leaf clover, due to a story told during the first Nonary Game, in which Akane died. Knowing that her fate was still hanging in the balance, he couldn't help but hate those things, feeling abandoned by them when his sister was allowed to die in the game when everyone else was saved.

ʜɪsᴛᴏʀʏ At a young age Aoi and Akane lost their parents and they were forced to leave the area they had lived in with their parents. With no other relatives, the two of them became the world to each other. As the eldest, Aoi did everything to make sure Akane was fed, clothed, sheltered and kept happy, even though that meant working pretty tirelessly and being frugal at times.

They had a unique skill, both of them, though they were on opposite ends of the telepathic ability and because of that they were chosen and abducted to participate in the 'Nonary Game' - an experiment created by Cradle Pharmaceutical to test kids with those abilities. However, it wasn't a harmless game - it was one where they put their lives on the line and Akane lost hers.

However, by using her ability, she saw that there was a way in which she could be saved. But it wasn't without sacrifice. She would have to re-create the Nonary game a second time, inviting in nine players to do the same puzzles they had. If the new group managed it, however, she might be able to receive the answers in the past telepathically and escape, therefore saving herself. For that reason, and for the sake of revenge on the four men who orchestrated the first game, she became the new Zero and started her own game.

Aoi was the necessary accomplice who helped put things together. Even though it meant punishing those responsible, more than that, he had to do it to save his sister. Playing the stock market, Aoi raised the money to make it possible, and created the organization known as Crash Keys.

But for the game, he took on the part of one of the players as well, to keep an eye on Akane and do his part to try and push the others in the right direction when he could.

In the end, Akane was saved and he took her and sped off, leaving the others behind. The others took off in pursuit but they were unable to catch up.
